DELTA DOC O LENA WINS FORT WORTH STOCKSHOW’S FORT WORTH, Texas, January 23, 2002 – With record entries this year, Delta Doc O Lena, a five year old APHA bay tobiano stallion owned by Wet Paint Farms of Omaha, Nebraska, started the new year off right with an impressive win at the Fort Worth Stock Show in the APHA Junior Cutting event, ridden by top NCHA & APHA cutting trainer, Chubby Turner. The cutting held on Jan. 14th, known as the "Color of Money," is a special cutting event for paint horses, co-sponsored by the American Paint Horse Association (www.apha.com) and the Stock Show. Exhibitors competed for a total purse of approximately $25,000 in paint cuttings, with $4,000 added for the junior class. Delta
Doc O Lena earned 24 APHA performance points and $2,027 for his
win, scoring first under all four judges with high scores of 76, 75,
75 and 74. His sire, DELTA
FLYER (APHA) is
one of the highest cutting money earning paints of all time, an NCHA OPEN
SUPER STAKES CHAMPION and an NCHA FUTURITY SEMI-FINALIST with lifetime
cutting earnings of $260,760. His
dam, JAVOLENA, (AQHA)
is a top NCHA producing daughter of DOC O LENA whose offspring have
earned more than $87,000. |
